Dear Wyoming County Landowners,
I was recently at the Penn Stater Marcellus Summit where I learned of your Landowner Coalition. My mission is to inform and educate property owners, on the reclamation side of well pad and pipeline installation, prior to signing a lease. I have found over the years, at least in PA, the reclamation is brought to the DEP minimum. Property owners will have to spend time, money and effort to bring the disturbed land back to productive use.
Property owners have neglected this important aspect but it will affect long-term impact of their property, specifically with pipelines. This is especially true for grazing, crop or hay production. They also unknowingly have a lot of input on how their land should be restored.
I would welcome the opportunity to engage citizens to think about the restoration process that uses less fertilizer and improves the soil fertility that will result in faster reclamation of the land to productive use.
Thank you for your organizationâ??s consideration and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Sincerely,
Lisa Van Houten
