It has come to our attention that some people are signing pipeline agreements that refer to attachments that are supposed to be part of the agreement.  In some cases, copies of those attachments  were never provided to the landowner and were not recorded with the agreements, hence the landowners have no record of parts of the agreement that they signed and in some cases may never have seen the attachment. 

 

Folks, the agents presenting these agreements may not be here next week let alone in 3 or 4 months.  We implore you; seek professional legal counsel prior to signing a document that may affect the value of your property.  If the property payment that is offered is not enough to cover the attorney costs in addition to what you desire for granting  an easement tell the pipeline company that you will not sign without the advice of an attorney and what they are offering is not sufficient to cover that cost.

 

Many of these agreements will allow permanent encumbrances on your property.  Remember, these company agents are not your friends and definitely are not looking out for your best interest,  They are paid to get a Right-of Way across your property, PERIOD.
